Private Label Rights -
PLR
|
Private label
rights are purchased online today as a
means of obtaining content and/or as a means of
obtaining a product that one can resell.
Private Label Rights can be
offered with almost any type of information
product -- articles, ebooks, graphics,
software, and more. PLR is
basically a license that the purchaser gets
when buying the product. The license generally
gives the new owner the right to use the
material for their personal use, including
modifying it and claiming authorship.
An example is with an ebook that someone
purchases with private label rights. The new
owner can rewrite any or all of the book,
create a new ebook cover, break the book into
individual reports chapter by chapter, or
create a series of articles.
Resale rights and master resale rights are
additional licenses that are often, but not
always, also sold with the private label rights
product. Resale rights allows
the new owner to resell the product to new
buyers, as is or modified, for their personal
use. Master resale rights
allows the new owner to market the product for
others to also resell.
